Rose Bed Preperation & Planting
Good soil is a key element to healthy plants. Good drainage is also essential to rose health. If you have clay or slow-draining soil, a product such as expanded shale should be added to help drainage. When planting, dig the hole twice as deep and twice as wide as the container. After you dig the hole, mix the soil you removed 50/50 with organic matter such as cotton burr compost or humus and then fill the hole back in with the mixture. Plant roses deep enough so 3-4” of soil is above (covers) bud union.
